Compuer Science workshop “debug” in Fukuoka (with online partipation)

Learning Computer Science in English (CS in English) is a workshop that aims to teach the basics of computer science in English to kids in Japan and the US. Using modern technology, teachers and students distributed across both countries interact with each other over the internet via video broadcast. Although the classrooms are split across the two countries, the material and online learning systems are identical to keep the kids as in sync as possible. The goal of the workshop is to show that kids around the world can defy the distance between them by having fun learning CS together.

On 6/30 in Fukuoka (2:00PM-4:30PM JST (or 6/29 10:00PM PDT)):, we will be holding a class called “Debugging: What is a bug and how do you eliminate one?” In the computer science/engineering world, a “bug” indicates an error or mistake in a program. If there is a bug in a program, a computer may not work as expected and may cause it to stop working.

In this class, you will learn about the types of bugs, how to find them, and how to fix them (debugging). You will also learn how to classify bugs and give them priorities (bug triaging). Last year’s class report can be found here.

We will be streaming the class through Youtube Live so that anyone can participate in the class remotely from anywhere in the world.
