The Hour of Code by Code.org is here. Hour of Code is an initiative that aims at demystifying coding principles to increase participation in the field of computer science. The new activity added this year is “Dance Party,” where we will make animated characters dance using coding. In the first part of the class, we will do an unplugged activity where we physically dance along with the kids in Japan as an introduction to “Event Programming,” an important fundamental in computer science. In the second part of the class, we will code our dance moves on a computer at code.org. At the end, we will showcase our work together with the kids in Japan.
